Contest Description
NOTE: The Canterbury Park Northern Stars Handicapping Contest may be played either ON-TRACK at Canterbury Downs, or online via XPRESSBET. New Jersey residents MAY play online via 4NJBETS. It is the players' responsibility to be aware of eligibility to hold an XPRESSBET account if wishing to play online. All entries won via HorseTourneys MUST be either played or transferred to another player.
PRIZES: One entry to the Xpressbet/Canterbury Park Northern Stars Challenge, to be played June 27, 2026, and played either on-track or online via XPRESSBET, will be awarded per every 10 entries participating in the contest. Entry value = $500. Please note that this contest is NOT available for exchange to site credit. Minnesota residents MUST play on-track at Canterbury to play with an Xpressbet account).

QUALIFYING PARAMETERS: AT LEAST 9 ENTRIES MUST PARTICIPATE TO HOLD CONTEST. If at least 9 entries are not participating, the contest will be cancelled with entry fees refunded. 9 of 10 entries must participate to award first spot/package. For subsequent spots/packages, 9 of 10 entries must be participating for a spot to be awarded. No other rounding rules. Any breakage entries will be returned back to players in the form of refund credits to non-winners equal to the number of breakage entries, unless there is a current negative breakage balance (see home page for current breakage status).
TRANSFERS AND MULTIPLE ENTRIES: Please note that players MAY transfer Canterbury/Xpressbet entries if they so choose. Therefore, players may always play in their own name and transfer a won entry to another individual at a later date. This entry is NOT eligible for exchange into HorseTourneys site credit.
ENTRIES CLOSE TIME: The closing time for entries is designated once races have been inputted and will be reflected above.
FORMAT: $2 Win/Place on a single horse. Payout caps of 20-1 to win, 10-1 to place.
